During VS.NET Beta 2 installation, setup stops with message "User Cancelled Install"

After installing the Windows Components successfully, setup stops during the
VS.NET installation with the message "User Cancelled Install."

Has anyone seen this problem before?

Can you answer the following questions? Your answers may help me get a fix
on the problem:

1. Did you install Beta 2 on a "clean" machine? Or, did you remove Beta 1
before installing Beta 2?

2. Did you use the automatic login feature during the Windows Components
installation? (I recall that this was a problem in Beta 1.)

3. Which operating system are you using?

To solve this problem I used the approach first suggested by jeremy farber
(see 7/5/2001 posting to this newsgroup). That is, I copied all three CDs
to one directory and ran the VS.NET installation from the directory.

I also have that problem with the french version of VS.net Beta2...

Greetings and thanks for posting to the newsgroup with your questions. I
want to take a look at the verbose installation logs for the failed
setups. Please make the file available for download and I'll take a look.
The log file is named VSMSILOG*.txt and will live in your %Temp% directory.
The log files can get rather large, so please compress the files before
uploading to a server. If you cannot make the file available for download,
let me know and I can make arrangements.
