SSMS and Visual Studio Project Integration

We have an SSMS project that is integrated with TFS. I also access that
project through Visual Studio. However, I recently added a folder to a
project in Visual Studio, saved all and still cannot see the folder update
in SSMS.

In talking to our former DBA who set it up, apparently the two applications
aren't fully integrated.
Is there a way of getting SSMS to sync up with VS aside from file changes?
