CodeCharge Studio IDE closes without warning when typing in double quotes; SourceSafe 2005 sounds liike the culprit

Hello,

I am a developer and am scratching my head, as to why the IDE I'm using,
CodeCharge Studio 4.00.00.015, is closing when I type in a quote. I don't
believe it has to do with CodeCharge Studio. And it's not just my machine
or my copy of CodeCharge and Visual SourceSafe 2005. The IDE doesn't even
display the quote; it's so quick that it immediately shuts down, without any
warnings. Windows is not catching the error in Event Viewer. I have a
feeling a DLL file is being accessed and the permissions are not being met,
but that's just a hunch.

Does anyone have any idea why this could be happening? And it only happens
with quotes! It does not happen with alphanumeric characters. Excuse me,
it ONLY happens with DOUBLE QUOTES. Single quotes work fine. It's when I
type in double quotes that it closes immediately. And it's hard to track
down because it is intermittent.

I can reset the computer and it may close out again or it'll be fixed for
some time and then, out of the blue, my IDE will close again, without cause
or warning.

Any help with this would be most appreciated.
