When creating an org chart, I choose the vertical layout format for staff
positions, so they get place one on top of the other. Works well...but how
do I reduce the spacing between the positions...they're too far apart. I
can move them manually but when I do auto arrange shapes again, they all
get moved back to their original positions.

Would appreciate any assistance.

Thanks & regards!

When the Org chart is selected, a new menu option called "Organization
Chart" is added to the main menu. One of the items on this new menu is
"Change Spacing..." The Custom Option on this dialog will allow you to
specify the spacing.

In Visio 2002, you can choose the Change Spacing command from the
Organization Chart menu. Select Tighten and click OK.
