Does anyone know how to setup multiple managers for a person in an
Organisation Chart.

If you add another connector to a box, Visio removes the existing connector
automatically.

Many thanks
Jeremy

I guess Microsoft couldn't contemplate someone being in
that awkward position :>

The current version of the Visio Organization Chart solution does not
support multiple managers. This feature is being contemplated for the next
version.

Thanks.

Maybe I should switch to OrgPlus, 'cause that can support multiple managers!

What's more it can import the same format CSV as the Visio Org Chart
Wizard!!!, so no changes to the software required.

Your other option is to NOT use the "Org Chart Solution". Just draw boxes
and connect them as you like. This is more manual, but give infinite
control and flexibility on your org chart layout.

Hi Jeremy,

I may be missing something, but I only see two ways of
doing this.
1) Just draw a connection (not a real connection, but a
line -- you could even make it dotted to show a dotted
line report). The drawback is it's not actually
connecting the shapes, but visually it would do the trick.

2) This is a little cumbersome, but you can get your
shapes on the page, then go to the menu bar and select
Tools > Options, click the Advanced tab, then deselect
the "Enable Automation Events" box. Click OK, go back to
your drawing and then use the dynamic connector to
connect the suboordinate to the 2nd boss. After it's
connected, go back through the menus and reselect "Enable
Automation Events" (otherwise the automatic layout and
connection behavior won't work anymore).

I haven't played around with option #2 very much, so I
don't know if it might cause any problems. You might try
this using a backup of your document, and make sure it's
working right for you.

I hope this helps you out,

Kevin

Unfortunately that's not an option.

The OrgChart is driven from a database, and could have many hundreds of
boxes.

Thanks. Option #2 seems to be a good workaround. I need to figure how best
to do this in code, after the OrgChart wizard has run.

I couldn't figure out if there was something in the ShapeSheet invoking the
restriction.

Thanks
Jeremy

I used option 2 in Kevin's reply and it worked like a charm!
