Only way I could get visio 2010 to populate my org chart automatically by doing
new org chart, and 'import' from exchange was to make sure my outlook 2010 WAS
NOT IN CACHING MODE!

Since I didn't see this answer anywhere by googling, thought I would add it to
this old thread. Visio has been giving me
your organization data contains 1 entries that are not in the organization
Until I changed to online mode.

Hope this helps someone in the future!

I can verify that this is still needed.

Cached mode did in OUTLOOK did not automatically populate MANAGER / EMPLOYEE relationships in VISIO when using the "data stored in exchange" option.

Switching away from cached mode in Outlook fixed the issue immediately.

Latest version of Outlook:
File>Info>Account Settings>Account Settings...>Email (tab)>Change... (select relevant account first)>Un-check "Use Cached Exchange Mode...">Next>Done>Restart Outlook

You can repeat those steps to turn it back on when you are done.
