Error 100 - during action open saved file ...visio 2000

Having trouble opening a visio 2000 file.

--- Error (100) occurred during the action Open saved
file visio cannot open the file because it's not a visio
file.


This file is a visio file. My system was rebooted with
the file open in visio and it may have corrupted the
file. Is there a way I can recover the file or change the
contents so that it can be opened in visio. I didn't have
autosave on.

I have the same problem you had. did you find any solution
to it? were you able to find a way to recover the file. I
wuld appreciate it if you could help on this matter. I
lost a very important file!

Trevor and Sherif,

Knowledge base article Q278261
(http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;Q278261) addresses
this problem. Unfortunately, there is no way to recover the file, but the
solution in the article will prevent it from happening again.
