Is there a flavour of Viso 2007 that will run on Terminal Server?

Yes, volume license. With Office 2007 products, retail, trial, and OEM
licenses can't run on Terminal Server.

Knowledge base article: 924622 Error message when you try to start a 2007
Office program within a Terminal Server client session: "This copy of
Microsoft Office <Program> cannot be used on Terminal Server"

I've installed visio 2007 professional using my volume license key and I
still get this error. I did have the retail key in use before, but i've
since removed it and fresh-installed with a volume key. what am i doing
wrong?

It's possible that the original information is cached in your system. Try
following the steps in this article to remove the original product key and
replace with your volume key :

for the 2007 Office system

Hi,

I need to purchase Visual to install on terminal server for non-profit
organization.
What does "Open Licensing" mean and is that the type of license that would
work installing Visio on Terminal server.

Thanks,

I meant "Visio" instead of "Visual" in above posting.

Open Licensing is a type of volume license that's different than retail or
OEM licensing and doesn't require activation. It's the type of Microsoft
licensing that organizations that require more than 5 licenses for a
product are typically recommended to purchase. The Microsoft Volume
Licensing Home Page is here http://www.microsoft.com/licensing/default.mspx.

I installed MS Offic 2007 Ent with Volume Licensing and a Key in a TS
Environment successfully. However, when I launch any of the products (Word,
Excel, Outlook, etc.) I get "The version of "......" license is not valid for
Terminal Server...." message.

Two notes :
1) The Volume License keys for Office and for Visio are different, so you
can't simply use the one for Office 2007 to install Visio.
2) The Volume License key has to be matched to the specific media type :
Select, for example.

The Retail media and the Select / Enterprise media are different, so you
can check to see if the Office 2007 or the Visio 2007 media that you have
is made for Volume installation. Also, verify that the correct key is
being used to install the package, since the Suite (Office Standard, Office
Pro, etc.) software keys are not the same as the individual app keys
(Visio, Project, etc.)

Only Volume media with a matched Volume License key will work on a Terminal
Server.
