Hi All,

I'm trying to install Visio 2007 on a Windows 2003 Terminal server.

The first thing I do is to copy the contents of the entire CD to a location
on the local hard drive.

I then run the setup /admin to invoke the OCT. I go through and make all
the changes I want, which mostly consist of file location changes and
entering the product key. Once the OCT setup is complete, I save the
resulting msp file to the "update" folder. I then run setup (from the local
drive, not the CD). I have tried letting the installation detect the .msp
file automatically and explicitly pointing to the MSP file. Either way I
can't get any of the settings to hold.

None of the file location settings work. When the installation is done, and
I run the program, the file locations are set to the default, not the
locations I chose. Also the setting to "Save all configurations to the
registry" (I don't know the exact wording of that choice) is not set.

The other thing is that when I launch the program (no matter which user I am
logged in as) the credentials always remain the same. That is to say, I
don't get to enter a new user name or customize the application in any way.
Any change or user ID I put in as one user carries over to any other user.

I'm obviously missing something here, but I'm at a loss to figure out what.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks in advance

John Morgan

Just to make sure: did you use a open license CD ?

Thanks for the response.

Not sure what you mean by open license.

The license I used is a volume license. I work in state government and so
we have volume license keys for all our MS products.
