cannot activate Visio 2007 trial

I've downloaded and installed the Visio 2007 trial software, but
unfortunately, it's impossible to activate.
Unlike most Microsoft products, which read our proxy server settings and
connect without problems, the Visio trial simply can't make the connection.
I've tried all the various solutions suggested in the Microsoft KB articles.
Judging by the comments in various technical forums, it's a widespread issue.
Being a trial there's no phone activation available, so I'm stumped.
If you can find a way to let me activate the Visio trial, I'd be delighted
to trial it ;)

You can test using the online "Try Now" option as well, which opens a
session in a browser window:

There's only one thing worse than having no security certificate and
that's having a security certificate that says it belongs to somebody
else.
