Hello-

I am trying to create vertical timeline milestones in Visio 2010. How can I
switch the date and description to angle up vertical vs being horizontal?
Trying to save space in a crammed timeline.
Thanks-
A

1. Ensure you are in developer mode (ribbon -> File -> Options -> Advanced -> Run in
developer mode
2. Ribbon -> Developer -> Drawing Explorer
3. Find the appropriate milestone shape in the drawing explorer
4. expand the shapes section, try each part in turn until the text is selected in the
milestone shape (only part of the text will be shown, the text is in two parts). Right
click on the shape entry in the drawing explorer and choose Show Shapesheet.
5. In the Angle cell enter 180deg.
6. Experiment with the angle until you get what you want.
7. Repeat 4 onwards for the 2nd part of the text.

You can also use the Text Block tool and the Open Group command at the end
of the Edit menu. You will also need to unprotect the text blocks within the
shape.
