I know this might be a stupid question, but does Visio 2000 support DB2
universale databases for AS/400?

TIA

Pascal,
Visio includes a 'IBM DB2 Universal Database' driver. I have not tried it on
a AS/400.

I believe it should work...

Yes, Yes: I know the various implementations of IBM DB2 Universal Database
have subtle differences... ;-)

Hope this helps

So what Visio is supposed to do with that driver?
Is it possible to do reverse engeneering from DB2UDB?
My point is what would be the use of the DB2UDB driver?
I've never worked with Visio so I'll need some explaining.

TIA

Pascal,
Huh?

Try this. (I don't have access to my AS/400 from my Visio 2000...)

1. Start Visio 2000
2. Use 'New - Database - Database Model Diagram'
3. Use 'Database - Reverse Engineer'
4. Select 'IBM DB2 Universal Database' under Installed Visio Drivers
5. Select your AS/400 ODBC data source under Data sources
5.a Click 'New' and create one, selecting the AS/400 ODBC driver.
** NOTE: Make sure the ODBC driver type makes the visio driver type...
6. Click Next
7. Select the object types you want imported
8. Click Next
9. I suspect various lists will appear depending on what object types you
requested and what types are available...
10. Click Finish when you are at the end of the Wizard.

11. Use 'Database - View - Tables' to see the list of tables
12. Drag tables to the drawing page...
13. ...

Hope this helps
Jay
