Templates won't produce landscape drawings

I've created a template file with a landscape page layout. When I
create a new drawing based on this template, it opens with a portrait
page layout. If I open the original template, it's still in landscape
mode. If anyone knows a workaround, please let me know.

I discovered how to maintain landscape layout when creating a new
drawing based on a template. Under Page Setup for the template, go to
the Page Size tab and use a pre-defined or a custom page size, which
will then allow you to select the page orientation at the bottom. The
orientation settings on this tab will carry through to new drawings
based on the template, while the orientation settings on the Print
Setup tab only apply to the current document.
