making a connector with multiple connectors on each end

I want to create a custom line that will have multiple connectors on
each end.

The purpose of using this is to show routing of a multi-conductor
cable in a schematic then show the break-out of the individual
conductors at each end.

This will save a lot of space and clutter in my electrical schematics
as I use a lot of 4-conductor control wire in my layouts.

I know how to do this with shapes but I need a line connector that can
be routed around items, etc.

have a look at the Connectors stencil, there are several shapes there
that might help, look at the Multi Tree Square, not sure if the
routing will work though. You could combine two or more together by
grouping them.

I had considered suggesting those shapes, but they are all single shapes
with multiple geometry and I would suspect that the ability to have
different coloured wires may be a desired bonus. So with multiple colours,
you would need multiple subshapes.

A long time ago, I suggested a raceway shape should be added to the
electrical stencil. This can be done by just making a wide version of the
standard dynamic connector. At each end place a shape similar to the
multi-tree shapes that you suggested, but modified to use seperate sub
shapes so that each "wire" could be a different colour or line pattern
(stripped wires).

OK, I got at least teh single connector w/ multiple end connections.
Once I figured out I could copy the default connector shape to a new
template, that went easy. I can see that multiple colors that stay
dynamic are going to be tough though.

I tried adding a second dynamic connector to a copy of teh default
connector shape but it does not allow it to run at the straight 45
degree angle. I'm guessing there is some significance to a connector
shape being drawn that way ?
