I'm a newbie at Visio. I created a new shape that is basically a rectangle
with text inside. I turned on the following Protections: Aspect Ratio, Text,
Format, From group formatting. But, when I place this shape in a drawing and
then try to resize it, the text inside gets all garbled. It doesn't resize
with the rest of the shape. How do I fix this?

First, you shouldn't need all those protections, turn them off again.
What do you mean by the text getting garbled?
I wonder if you mean that it appears as pale grey blocks?
menu Tools -> Options -> View
and at the bottom in the "Greek text" set it to 4pt or less.
Greek text is nothing to do with the Greek language.

Paul, Thanks for helping. What I mean by garbled is that I originally had the
text spaced and aligned the way I want it and lined up with the Connection
Points. But, when I resize it, text overlaps with text around it and no
longer lines up with the Connection Points. The text doesn't shrink down when
I resize the rectangle, the text stays the same size. I need the text to
shrink down and stay in proportion with the rectangle. Is there a way to
attach images with posts on this forum?

Answered over on the VisioGuy forum.
No images allowed here, it's a purely text medium, however, you can
put an image easily on a webpage somewhere and provide a link to it.
Free webspace is 10 a penny.
