Hi All

I have just started to get this warning
vmsmp id 28

Port 'E7DEFAC0-FAF7-4296-915C-C7742792BC83' was prevented from using MAC
address '00-1E-0B-90-F5-AA' because it is pinned to port
'SCVMM-678A6CA5-3691-43DE-8DCC-07884D8F'.

It is filling my event log as it is logged every second

Am now also getting this. On all 8 VMs running on a single Server. I believe
the badness started on 11/13 for me. Which may also have been the day I
switched all the VMs from using "dynamic" MAC addressess to fixed ones.

Hi there i have read you post on this error
Typical whit this error is when you are running a virtual server on 2 different servers you will get this error.
VMSPM error 28
Port 'DAC3B97C-9274-46F6-A097-05200E9B2E3B' was prevented from using MAC address '00-15-5D-10-FC-03' because it is pinned to port '1E2A1849-F339-4C93-96D7-BF75E016692D'.
I experience the same problem and found out what was wrong, I have 2 Hyper-V server setup for one of my costume, this error begin to pop up in the event log, i found out that the global MAC Network settings is the same for Both Hyper-V server, so by change the MAC in the Virtual networks manager, the error 28 stop running on both server, you will also need to reset you network card, to make it work.

I'm having this error in a Windows 2008 R2 hyper v cluster with all mac
adresses of all guest servers. Besides I'm having the same error on both
nodes of the cluster with the physical adapter of the parent partition and
the virtual switch created over that network adapter.

Any help will be apreciated.

Thanks in advance
