All developers should remember Visual Interdev 6.0 uses a microsoft
client / server interface (IISAPI and FP) to manipulate directories
and files.
Today, and VERY easily I performed an operation like this:
right click folder
release working copy
choose menu :file : copy
then click on the project then paste
You get a "copy" labeled project item ("copy of"... etc...)
I RENAMED that folder that I copied, immediately, it serves as a
backup
Then I had files in the former directory I wanted to delete, but STILL
KEEP the folder they were in...
I used the ctrl key to HIGHLIGHT the items in the folder....
BUT... GODDAMN! Guess what... it does not automatically DELETE the
highlight from the parent folder.
This could have been a TOTAL FUCKIN' FIASCO... luckily I made a back
up...
VID deleted the folder because I used the keyboard, but accidently
distregarded that goddamn highlight in the folder.
Today was a good day. I MADE a back up of the folder before deleting.
Previously, I entered spyware HELL.
The FP extensions deleted as though I had authority for the NTFS dir,
I had no back up... I desperately went to the internet to get some
disk cluster retrieval software... WHAT the fuck do I GET? SPY WARE
OUT THE ASS!!!
NOW! I'm in a TOTALLY NEW market! SPYWARE EXPERT!
I'm not kidding either:
I used pci_filerecovery.exe (I'm a fool)
To get rid of the crap it produces on the client USE:
cwshredder
hijackThis
killbox
spywareblaster
VX2Finder
Ad-aware
and there's this other thing that registers itself as an older
Microsft NT service, which I found with only ONE deja or google search
by looking at the software/run registry key ...
You'll see it in the task manager...
BE very careful in using VID.... ALWAYS back up with some FTP or
tool...
