Enabling secure update in DNS

I have been asked to look at enabling only secure DNS updates in our domain.

Currently we allow unsecured. I have a large number of desktops ~1000
(mainly XP) and 150 servers (Mainly 2003 but some 2000 and NT4)
I also have some unix and linux servers in teh mix.

Can anyone who has had to make this change give me some idea of the impact /
issues I might have.
