iexplore.exe failed to launch

FYI, posted this on 1/12 and am MSDN subscriber, and haven't seen reply yet.
Are these normally truly replied to within 2 business days? First time in
awhile posting here as MSDN subscriber, so wondering if maybe there's a
reason I haven't heard back yet. Following is my original question:

Working in pre-.NET Visual Studio 6 environment that has worked successfully
for years on win2K. We're migrating to XP and currently am on XP SP1.
Having mixed results getting our integrated debugging environment to work.
Some machines are fine, but many get stuck on the following error when
attempting to set a break point and execute a single page web application in
interdev:

"application 'c:\program files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe' failed to
launch."

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
