Cannot add resource file from one project to another project.

Hello
I am trying to add a .rc file which was created in another project to another project. I am able to compile this file in the new project. But the project build fails in the link step. I get the following two errors.

CVTRES : fatal error CVT1100: duplicate resource. type:ICON, name:1, language:0x0409
LINK : fatal error LNK1123: failure during conversion to COFF: file invalid or corrupt
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

i have encountered the same problem, luckily both of my projects had quite
simple window interfaces so i removed the resource files from one of them
now they both look into the same resource file and find what that need..
i'm sure that this is quite a brutal way of fixing this problem but it
works for me...
