Recently I have received some valuable advise from people in this
newsgroup. I've shared this advice with others including non-programmers
in my company. Some people are surprised, even skeptical about the
length of the replies I received. I find myself looking at the advice
that I've received and people who provide it, with new appreciation. You
folks are strangers to me, yet you have done a great job for me and
others as well. I am truly amazed at the time people have spent helping me.

I thank you very much.

Hi Tom,

i can second that! In the past i got lots of good answers
from people here on many diffucult stuff. I also try to be
of help whenever i can (mostly on german newsgroups
regarding .NET Technologies and Languages!), but sometimes
here and other englisch NGs as well,...

Regards

Kerem

I've been in this newgroup for years receiving and offering advice and code
and I can tell you it is a great bunch of people that participate. We
*never* have any of the flame arguments I've seen elsewhere, people are over
the top willing to help, and we can often even help each other on non-MFC
topics. I find it invaluable and worth at least a daily visit. A lot of
people are abandoning newsgroups for the forums, but there are still a lot
of hold outs.

I would not say "never" have flame wars, but they are brief tempests that
don't destroy the community as you see in other forums.

The MSDN forums using the web interface (that's what I was talking about).
