The Isis Proteus Model Library Gy 521 Mpu6050l is a simulation model of the popular Gy 521 Mpu6050l module, which is a 3-axis accelerometer and gyroscope sensor that can be used with Arduino boards. In this article, we will show you how to install and use the Isis Proteus Model Library Gy 521 Mpu6050l for your Arduino projects. We will also provide some examples of how to read and display the sensor data on a serial monitor and an LCD screen.


Installing the Isis Proteus Model Library Gy 521 Mpu6050l
To use the Isis Proteus Model Library Gy 521 Mpu6050l, you need to have the Proteus software installed on your computer. You can download the latest version of Proteus from here.


Once you have installed Proteus, you need to download the Isis Proteus Model Library Gy 521 Mpu6050l from

here. This is a GitHub repository that contains the model library file (GY-521.MDF) and some example Arduino sketches.


After downloading the model library file, you need to copy it to the Proteus library folder. The default location of this folder is C:\Program Files (x86)\Labcenter Electronics\Proteus X Professional\LIBRARY, where X is the version number of Proteus. You may need to restart Proteus for the model library to appear in the software.






Using the Isis Proteus Model Library Gy 521 Mpu6050l
To use the Isis Proteus Model Library Gy 521 Mpu6050l, you need to create a new project in Proteus and add an Arduino board and a GY-521 module to the schematic. You can find the GY-521 module in the Devices category of the component library.


The GY-521 module has eight pins: VCC, GND, SCL, SDA, XDA, XCL, AD0 and INT. You need to connect them to the Arduino board as follows:



VCC: Connect to 5V or 3.3V pin of Arduino
GND: Connect to GND pin of Arduino
SCL: Connect to A5 pin of Arduino (for Uno, Nano, Mini) or 21 pin of Arduino (for Mega)
SDA: Connect to A4 pin of Arduino (for Uno, Nano, Mini) or 20 pin of Arduino (for Mega)
XDA: Leave unconnected
XCL: Leave unconnected
AD0: Leave unconnected or connect to GND for address 0x68 or connect to VCC for address 0x69
INT: Leave unconnected or connect to an interrupt pin of Arduino for external interrupt

Here is an example of how to connect the GY-521 module to an Arduino Uno board:



After connecting the GY-521 module to the Arduino board, you need to write and upload an Arduino sketch that can communicate with the sensor and read its data. You can use the Wire library for I2C communication and the MPU6050 library for accessing the sensor functions. You can find these libraries in the Arduino IDE or download them from here and here.


Here is an example of a simple Arduino sketch that can read and print the accelerometer and gyroscope data from the GY-521 module on a serial monitor:
