server present on WINXP with SP2 when the client connects
it gives the following error msg.

CoCreateInstanceEx failed with error code 800706BA

can anyone help me out as to why it happens.
the server and client works fine when communicated from Win 2k to Win2k but
in XP why such a problem comes.

The firewall in WINXP SP2 might be blocking the calls. run the
firewall.cpl applet and add your application to the list of authorized
applications.

Have you set the 'Enable Distributed COM on this Computer' checkbox on
both client and server?

Run dcomcnfg
Expand Component Services\Computers\My Computer
Right click on my Computer
Choose properties
Choose the 'Default Properties' tab
Check the checkbox

Alternatively search for '0x800706ba' on google newsgroups - there is a
lot of instruction concerning this error code.
