I know Microsoft will hate me asking this question, but here it goes:

My company develops almost exclusively in the Microsoft Dev Studio
environment. We have the need to port a small dll to OS/2 for one of
our clients. Is there any way I can use VC5.0 to do this or do we
have to go out and buy a different compiler that supports OS/2.

Hope someone can answer.

Visual C++ only supports the Intel Win32 architechture, the Alpha processor
in NT (for the Alpha version) and I believe there's a crosscompiler for the
Mac. That's all there is.

This means you'll have to get another compiler for OS/2 (maybe IBM's Visual
Age?)

[2nd attempt posting this...]

I believe Watcom's compiler could target OS/2. Is it still on the market?
(Watcom's compiler, that is. :-)

Microsoft will support OS/2 "within 90 days after hell freezes over". They are
doing their best to kill any platform superior to their own, which gives them
plenty of choices, including OS/2.

Your best commercial bet would be Watcom. They have an excellent compiler
which targets both OS/2 and Win32.

Your best overall bet would be gcc. That would allow you to target OS/2, Win32
and various other platforms; it's not in any danger of going away, support
(user-word-of-mouth or paid) is readily available, and it's one less dependency
on the Microslut (from whom Watcom and every other commercial compiler has to
license their tools).

Just my own personal $0.01989034231 (damn Pentium bug!) worth...
