I have on our other computer windows xp home edition.
the computer is a :
Hp Pavilion 2.0ghz
256mb Ram
60gb HDD
I have been given this computer off a mate that has tried to re-install
windows xp home on it. now when you turn the computer on it is at the final
screen of the setup proccess you hit the finish button and it doesn't seem to
do anything at all! can anyone help me please??

Not here, this is a Visual Basic group specifically about
the Setup Wizard - nothing to do with XP, you need to find
an XP group.
