Excel READ ONLY batch file processing

Hi,

I have a number of excel files in a folder. I'd like to put these as
READ ONLY only. Is there a macro I can run to automatically put these
as READ ONLY? Or do I have to manually go into each file and save
them as READ ONLY?

An alternative would be to put on a password for modification - users
can open file but not modify it - but I haven't found a code for this
either.

Any suggestions?
