Sorry for the dry wit, mate, but try the disks you received when you purchased
MS Office.
If you bought your laptop with Ms office pre-installed, then the supplier should
have provided you with the disks.
11/2008 - that's less than 8 months - any warranty??
Of course, you could go out and buy MS Office again - with disks!!
What do you mean by 'destroy' - you took to it with a hammer or 'destroyed'
because you've lost the operating system, ie needs reformatting/reinstalling all
your software.
Either way (old laptop reinstalled, or a new laptop) I'd suggest before you do
anything (after you've got it back to where you can use it), use Acronis,
Spotmau, Norton Ghost - whatever you can lay your hands on, to do a complete
system save, or even a clone, to an external drive.
Here's some more news - notice the VB in "microsoft.public.vb.installation"
This newsgroup is for Visual Basic installations, so consider yourself lucky
that you've got a response, rather than just
"Wrong newsgroup"
btw, I couldn't find a newsgroup with "ms office install" in it, so try a Google
search instead

Secondly, it seems the lesson here that any diligent student might takeaway is, if
you puchase something for download, it's up to *you* to make sure you have an
archival copy somewhere. Things come and things go on the internet. That's a fact
of life that almost anyone who's currently a student surely has grown up with.

If you actually did buy it from them, and have proof of that, it wouldn't cost you
anything but time to try calling and asking for another copy, eh?

LOL!
G'head, reinforce that *newb* impression you've already so firmly cemented.
Oh, and "get a real newsreader!" while you're at it. ;-)
