Thanks,

The *only* legal ways to obtain it is to buy a used copy from someone
(eg, eBay) or subscribe to MSDN. It's really sickening that they just
don't release it as unsupported freeware, now that they've declared it
useless.

But if they did that, NOBODY would buy any dotnet development tools. <g>
MS might have dropped support for VB6, but they KNOW (damn well) that it's
NOT useless.

What will MS think of that?
Seriously, I don't think MS will care.
If you purchase a copy of VB6 (or VS6) from eBay, and you recieve the actual
CD with the license stamp on it, your butt is covered. If the original
seller made a copy and is using is, that's his problem.
That said, if you recieve from the seller ANYTHING other then the original
CD (burned copy on another CD or DVD) than you do not have a legitimate copy
and the seller has commited fraud. You'd then take that matter up with
eBay.
If you're that concerned about it, contact the seller and verify the copy
you are recieving is the original CD in it's jewel case with the license
stamp. Anything other then a YES answer, find another seller.
Finally, if you're really desparate, I have one word for you. Torrent.

"The bits are out there..."
Yeah, I'm sure they'd lose some percentage of MSDN subscriptions as
well.
