I have some Visual Basic 4 project files which contain Sheridan 3D controls
object. I want to open it in Visual Basic 5. So, I get the ocx files from
the web and copy it to my windows\system folder. But, i still cannot use it.
It give me error "License information for this component not found. You do
not have appropriate license to use this functionality in the design
environment. I also have the same problem for the MS Grid control. Can any
body help me to solve this problem? I need it urgently.

You need to either RegSvr32 the relevant controls to register them or
find the ocx's on your VB5 CD and install them from there. (they're on
the VB6 cd so I assume they're also on VB5). There's something in the
documentation about them being included on the cd but not being part of
the installation!

eg. to register the Sheridan 3D Controls use a command line -
"regsvr32.exe C:\Windows\system\threed32.ocx".

You can solve this problem as described in other messages if you only
want to USE the control. But if you want to design a new control using
one of the ThreeD controls, you can't solve the problem unless you buy
the current version.
