Download Socketwrench by catalyst.  It is equal (if not better) than the microsoft Winsock 6.0 control and it is free!  They also have a bunch of other cool Internet ActiveX controls for purchase.

I just got Visual Basic Learners Edition v.6.0, which doesnt liscense the winsock control for you, and i cant use it unless its liscensed.  I have looked at the Microsoft MSDN web page and couldnt find anything that helped me out. Does anyone know how/where i can get a liscensed winsock control for VB6 learners edition?

Thank You.

Andy,

actually if you do download the SocketWrench package, included is a
tutorial 'An Introduction to TCP/IP Programming' and a bunch of
samples to get you started. You can start your 'reading up' right
there :)

I found that the tcp connection of Catalyst control is slower than
Microsoft. Is it true?
