What syntax/switches should I use to migrate user profiles from old xp pro
systems to new xp pro systems? We have 300 computers with multiple profiles
on each computer. I have been testing the following command:

SCANSTATE \\hpmediavault\fileshare\migration\pc1

When I add switches such as /i:miguser.xml the error log states that it
cannot find the .inf file. Do I have to create an inf file for each category
(profiles, apps, etc..)?

Any help would be appreciated.

Happy St. Patrick's Day

Hello Noah -

inf files were used with USMT 2.6 - to create migration rules - USMT 3 +
will use some xml files to create migration rules -

Make sure you are first using USMT 3 - then start with a basic command

scanstate <store path> /i:miguser.xml /i:migapp.xml /v:13 /c

give something like that a try - you can add /nocompress if you want to
browse the store - see what files were gathered
