I'm migrating users from Windows XP Pro to Windows 7 Enterprise and I am
using USMT 4.0 to migrate the known file types from only the user's profiles.
Whenever I try to put in an exclude for the c:\, it ignores the command.

I need to find away to only scan c:\documents and folders for the requested
file types, but not the rest of the computer.

Thanks,
Mike

Have you tried excluding the "MigDocSystem" unit from the MigDocs.xml and
probably the "User Data" unit for MigUser.xml?

You will probably want to create a config.xml file to do this.

MikeK -

Pascual's suggestion should work for you if you are using migdocs.xml and is
likely the best solution :) - but maybe this info will help as well

The more specific rule will win out – C:\* [*] will just about always lose
to a more specific path –
If you set the diagnostic log you should be able to see the rules that were
created and identify the components that are moving this data –
Before running USMT set this environment var
SET MIG_ENABLE_DIAG=<file name>
