Has anyone experienced the same problem? Is there
a known explanation or, better yet, a workaround?
I'd be grateful if anyone could throw light on
the issue.

Problem solved. For me the trick was to "Delete all
Services" (within "Settings" > "TV" > "Scan for New
Services") before rescanning. After that I had to
re-download the Guide and change the channel order
back to what I wanted.
