I have been using Money version 17.0.150.3817 for several months
(since I replaced my OS with Windows 7) with four accounts for my
parish councils without a problem. I have not updated my personal
account since that time. I now wish to bring my accounts up to date
but I am unable to open the file with the error message "created using
a different version of Money' I was obviously able to convert my
business accounts, What have I mssed please?

Money 17.0.150.3817 is a US version -- Money Plus Business Sunset.
It will not open your UK file.

See
http://social.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/money/thread/479281b2-90f9-42ca-85f7-644fc6e1e5c3
for the Money 2005 UK installation file. The easiest would be to
have Money 2007 UK installed on a different computer from that which
is running.

It is possible to have Money 2005 UK and Money 2007 on the same
computer. I think that might require uninstalling Money Plus
temporarily, install Money 2005 UK, and then pay attention during
the Money Plus reinstall to make it not uninstall the earlier
version.
