If I understand correctly, today is the last day you can buy a licence for
MOA2009 from the official online shop. However, there appear to be a large
number of MOA2008 licences available from third party vendors. Am I right in
thinking that the product key from these can be used to activate a downloaded
copy of MOA2009UK in the future? It will obviously need to be possible to
reinstall the software indefinitely, and I do not see any references to a
deadline for activating/registering new copies.

Yes - it works/upgrades fine.

Excellent, thanks. Hopefully the price will plummet too. And as another
poster said, it is rather comforting to know that we will not have to decide
whether to upgrade each year or so!

I have a original hard copy of MOAC 2008 with registration key etc . I have
also saved to dvd a downloaded copy of moac 2009 in case I need to
reformat the hard disk ,so should be o.k. .However , ( Apologies if the
answers are obvious but ):
Is there still a download link for MOAC Express 2009 UK anywhere ?
Is there a download link for the MOAC patches any where ?
May be answered by first two, but if no links , and if I had not saved MOAC
2009 to DVD , how would I bring up to date my Hard copy of of MOAC 2008 ?

MOA 2009 service pack one :
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=4E8AA62E-07CA-41FC-B8E4-3FB2D338775B&displaylang=en

service pack 2

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=93DCDD09-75FF-4D5F-A582-72A92EC321D5&displaylang=en

I don't see any download links for the 2009 UK MOA Pro or MOA Express
programs themselves, but the service packs are certainly available:

http://preview.tinyurl.com/moauk-2009sp1
http://preview.tinyurl.com/moauk-2009sp2

I have downloaded and kept the MOA Pro 2009 UK installer and the two SPs and
have burned them to DVD for future use, but don't have the Express
installer - never used Express.

Perhaps I'm mistaken but didn't Express use the same installer as Pro, but
the Pro features remained locked without a Pro serial number?

With the US version called MOA2009USExp.exe I went off looking for
MOA2009UKExp.exe and as part of my search (having not found it) ended up here.

The file is actually called MOA2009GBExp.exe and with that,
http://download.microsoft.com/download/F/F/0/FF07761D-7859-4002-913F-1B25CB481CF7/MOA2009GBExp.exe (or in fact one of loads on google).

Enjoy!
