I have been using streets and trips 2009 OLP since November on 15 computers.
One got a BSOD this last week and now streets and trips will not launch
giving us the error "licensing initialization error 0xc004d301" and then
quitting. I have uninstalled and reinstalled with same error.
please help

If this is a production issue in a business[1], your best bet is to
call Microsoft for support. This newsgroup is individuals who enjoy
*using* the program.

If you're not in a hurry, someone will be along shortly who knows more
than I do.

[1] I'm assuming that anyone with that many copies is a business.

Can you provide more information about the crash that proceeded Streets'
problem?
- What do you think caused it?
- What application(s) was running at the time?
- Was it due to some update that was happening then?
- Some other recent change on your computer?
- Something Streets specific (for example configuring a GPS, adding a new
one, etc)

But, as Steve mentions, the only real option to resolve this error in
Streets is to contact Support.

I did a search on the error code, and it appears that one's a generic
"licensing is screwed up". It applies to other software packages, and
to Windows itself, too. There was one success story of someone who
worked with Microsoft Support to apply a patch to S&T, follow by
<mumble>.

Hi Diane,

I would suggest reviewing the steps on this support page:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/951632.
There is a support number you can call if you are still stuck.
