latest update (moving from ST2010)

It appears that it is time to update the program.

That, and I have the money for such fripperies.

But it appears that Microsoft is assuming that the internent will
always be available, so there is no need to have the maps actually on
your computer. Meaning, they discontinued S&T. SO, I being the
trailing edge sort of consumer, figure I might as well get a copy of
the last version.
But apparently, there was no S&T2014, and ST21013 was the last
release. Anyone have any pointers to where one could get that
version?

Secondly, while I am at it, what alternatives have anyone one found to
ST? Comparable in price, features, and the ability to transfer data
from my current map files to the new software.

Check out these, all based on the open data OpenStreetMap.

I've not used these apps myself, but do contribute to and make heavy use
of the data.
