Does anyone know how to get S&T 2004 to display shopping on maps? I've
selected Shopping under Show Places and nothing appears on my maps. All
other Places will appear, but not Shopping. Is this a default in the
database? Is there a way to update this information?

TIA,

mikkl

Hmm, try a right-click "Find nearby places" where you would like to
find shopping, and increase the radius if necessary - check if
anything appears under the "Shopping" node in the left pane.

If it does, double-click an entry to see where the corresponding mall
etc. is located.

If it doesn't, let us know where you are looking, there may not be
entries at that location.

I am looking in central and southern Ohio, specifically Dayton and
Cincinnati. I've tested Detroit and have the same problem.

If I do the ten miles around central Seattle, 4 shopping locations are
identified (as are 2552 restaurants).

It would appear that the Shopping part of the database is, at best,
limited.

It seems to have only big malls and such. If I do a 50 mile search
centered on Cincinatti, I find 20, Dayton finds 30. Seattle indeed has
a meagre 4, even with a 50 miles radius.

Do you know of any plans to update the database?

It is updated about yearly, when a new version comes out. That is,
Microsoft includes a new database as provided by their map data
provider, which is another company (several, rather - check the
"Credits" in online help) .
