I've used S&T 2004 for 2 years and have just upgraded to 2006. I've noticed
that many rivers have disappeared and also other landmarks. 2005 also had
this problem, but I was allowed to return it for 2006. I would appreciate it
if someone could confirm these locations on 2005 and/or 2006.
The first example is the Homossasa River in Homosassa Springs, Fl. The link
below shows the 2004 version and the 2006 version. And where has the
Chassahowitka National Wildlife Refuge gone? And W Burnt Bridge Rd?
I've also noticed many major rivers are now shown as a thin line instead of
the scaled view in 2004. See Demopolis, AL on the map link below. This a a
MAJOR river! Also, where have the parks gone?

Hi RaiderBruce,

You have clearly pointed out the reality that there are *some* areas
where the new map data is not as accurate as it was in 2005. In the
case of the water, they probably switched to a different map data
provider which ended up having poor hydro data in rural areas.
Overall, I've been impressed with the new data in 2006 as it is more
often better than worse (when compared to 2005 or other previous
versions). (Does that make any sense? :-)

There is a little creek behind our apt. in North Carolina "Sugar Creek" 17.5
miles as the crow flies and it shows in S&T 2006. When it doesn't rain for a
few days it's pretty much ankle/calf deep where we are with approx. 40-50ft
wide. This does seem a rather insignificant size creek to be showing up in
S&T.
If the Homossasa River is more grand than this creek there is reason for
outrage.
