I'm trying to restore a SQL database, but its generating the following
error:
Msg 3132, Level 16, State 1, Line 1
The media set has 2 media families but only 1 are provided. All
members must be provided.
Msg 3013, Level 16, State 1, Line 1
RESTORE DATABASE is terminating abnormally.
As far as I know I backed up the database in the same way as I always
do, but for some reason this is different.
--I can perform a:
restore filelistonly
from disk = 'i:\postcodes.bak'
--which returns:
Postcodes C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.1\MSSQL\DATA
\Postcodes.mdf D PRIMARY 10485760 35184372080640 1 0 0

00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000000 0 1

00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000000 0 1
can anyone help? I need to restore the database somehow - this is
possible?
thanks
Lee
The wizard allows U to easily do a backup that uses 2 files ,
apparently. Note the date/time ofo oour known backup then look in C:
\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.1\MSSQL\Backup (or similar)
and you may find the other file with the matching date and time (such
as C_DIR_APP_Data_Databasename.MDF.bak.
Then in the restore wizard add this file and your known file and then
it may work. Good luck
