I am using VB 6.0 SP4 and attempting to access a MS Access database
using the ADO data access option. When I use the "build" feature to
identify the .mdb file, I get the following error:

"Login failed. Catalog information cannot be retrieved." Any ideas to
resolve this issue?

Thanks!

Which build feature? There are several of them. If this is
on the ADO Data Control, make sure you referenced the
correct Jet version and that you specified the user as Admin
with a blank password.
You can also find samples of ADO connection strings at:
http://www.able-consulting.com/ADO_Conn.htm
Other than that, you'd probably want to post to one of the
vb newsgroups. Try:
microsoft.public.vb.database
or
microsoft.public.vb.database.ado

Please install MDAC 2.6 or higher and have a try.
