Hello,
I have downloaded SQL Server standard edition from MSDN in French. I try to
install it on a windows 7 Professionnel. I get the error :
"TITLE: Erreur du programme d'installation de SQL Server.
------------------------------

Le programme d'installation de SQL Server a rencontré l'erreur suivante :

La clé de produit SQL Server n'est pas valide. Pour continuer, entrez à
nouveau les chiffres de la clé de produit qui se trouvent sur le certificat
d'authenticité (COA) ou sur le coffret de SQL Server.

Code d'erreur 0x84B40000.

"

it seems to be a key error ?

Can you tell me wath is wrong ?

Thanks

First I would try downloading again. Also, how did you use the ISO
image? Something could have gone wrong in that process.

If all that fails, I would consider contacting the MSDN Concierge.

post the problem here.....

I don't know what I can do .....

Well, I'm completely stumped. But to start somehere, try downloading
the English version.

Thanks for your help, English version doesn't return the same error. The
french version seems to have a bad key....

You need to beat that MSDN Concierge up a little bit more, and have
them to actually install a French version. (I don't really have the
time to try it myself right now. The World Cup in football is keeping
me busy....)

Yes, the French version has a new registry key in HKLM. It's the CESM
key (Cheese-Eating Surrender Monkey). Set this value to YELLOW and
your install will complete. Also, make sure in the same hive that your
KTKA key (Kissing The Krauts Ass) has a value of FOREVER.
