Good day...

I'm sure this is a common error....

Is there a place where I need to add my Admin ID to to allow access???

Many thanks...
Michael

The ID I am using on Windows Server 2003 has admin rights... But, when I try
installing SQL Server 2008 Express, I get the following Error:

Hi, MikeL,

I'm having the almost-identical error installing SQL 2008 on Windows 2003
Server R2 x64. I spent the whole day uninstalling VS 2008 per the readme,
then installed it again immediately followed by SP1 per the MS developers,
then SQL 2008 but still get the same error. I'm guessing it is a registry
permissions issue, but I'm not sure exactly how to fix it. Maybe this will
help you more than it did me:

http://blogs.msdn.com/psssql/archive/2008/08/11/sql-server-2008-visual-studio-2008-sp1-and-net-framework-3-5-sp1-explained.aspx

Good luck.
