MDAC ISSUES AND SP4

[BREEZE]

Q264123 did not work...

My MDACSet.log file starts out stating "Let's get out of
here 2.1 already installed" with no other errors listed
and the same time/date stamp as when I was applying the
SP4. Redist.log finishd with "Installation succeeded".
SqlSP.log ends with "16:34:00 Setup is installing
Microsoft Data Access Components (MDAC) ...
16:34:00 C:\70SP4\X86\Other\sqlredis.exe /q:a".
I ran comcheck and am running the version MDAC
2.1.2.4202.3. Never run the setup by itself - any
problems? Thanking somenone for your assistance!!!

Hi,
What's your OS and current MDAC version? Try to install a higher MDAC
version first before apply SP4. MDAC is available at
http://www.microsoft.com/data

I am running winnt 40 spk60a

Sql 7.0 no service packs installed

What happens if I install a higher version of MDAC? The version I am on
is MDAC 2.1.2.4202.3.

Hi,
MDAC 2.1.2.4202.3 is MDAC 2.1 SP2 while SQL SP4 might install MDAC 2.5
SP1. Try running MDAC setup separately before the sql server service pack
installation.
