Hello,
I have noticed that I cannot run sql server, while getting following error:
the remote procedure call failed. (0x800706be).

I don't know why, but I don't want to re-install the whole sql server 2008
R2 again.

How can I solve that issue?

Thanks :)

A good start would be to describe it more clearly. For instance where you
get this error, and what you are trying to do when this error occurs.

When you say "cannot run sql server" I would interpret this that is an
error you get when you try to start the service. But then your subject line
talks about Agent.

Sorry,
When running sql server configuration manager, and pressing the sql agent +
(mouse right click) + properties, on service tab, I change "start mode" from
disable to manual,
and than I get the error : the remote procedure call failed. (0x800706be).

When running SSMS I connect the database as well, but sql server agent is
disabled.
Should I start over, and install the whole database again?
(When running the setup again, and choosing "maintenance + repair", finally,
after hours, I got the same on the same scenario mentioned).

Thanks :)

Well,
I have tried reinstall the database again (Sql server 2008 R2), and now I
get the new error:
Operation failed with 0x80070643.

I don't know what this less than helpful error might mean, but I get a
feeling that something is broken with regards to WMI (which is part of
Windows and not SQL Server) on your machine. Funny, though, if it's only
Agent that has difficulties. What service account did you set for Agent?
