This is SQL 2000 developers edition on a Win 2000 professional (sp2)
that already had SQL 2000 Dev.Ed. (very same CD) installed. I
uninstalled SQL because replication broke, not being able to
initialize a snapshot (unable to copy data from syncobj_324323xxxxx),
but that's another story.
During installation, I get "Unable to load sql server ODBC driver
resource dll", and the setup log says "unable to configure server".
I'd copy the required dll/rll where ever necessary, if I could find
out what's missing. How do I track down the missing dll/rll? Anyone
solved this before?

Fixed the problem by copying sqlsrv32.dll and sqlsrv32.rll from the
SQL CD into c:\winnt\system32. But why didn't installation replace
them for me? Does it leave DLLs alone in certain circumstances?
