I heard that the new data source for RS does not provide the option to
handle "Perform translation for character data". We need that option to be
unchecked but the new data source for RS is hard coded as checked.

We need the option to be unchecked so that the double byte characters are
displayed correctly on screens and reports.
Any ideas, please.

Thanks,
Lianghong

Never mind, I've just found out there is a Auto Translate setting which
should be the same as "Perform translation for character data" setting in
ODBC Data Source Administrator.

I failed to set parameter "Auto Translate" to False all the same. Here is
what I tried:

Step1: Change AutoTranslate to false in the Tab "ALL" and click "OK"
Step2: Unfortunately, the parameter "Auto Translate = false" was not
involved in the connection string.
Step3: At this time, click button "EDIT" and noticed that the parameter
"Auto Translate" had been changed back to True automatically.

Parameter "Auto Translate" seems not functioning with the data source type
Microsoft SQL Server.

Please advise. Thanks,
Lianghong
