Alternate row colors in a colum group in SSRS 2008

I have a report which has a row group and column group. I am able to
alternate the rows that are come out of the row group. When the rows
start spanning to the column group i am not able to alternate the
colors: Here is an example: XYZ values are based on a column group
(Group2).ABC come from a row group (Group1)

Here First Row is white, When you hit the second row, B has a
whitesmoke backgound, the metric values also need to be whitesmoke
background, instead the background color scheme goes haywire. The
Values ABC use the Runningvalue as a function in the bg color, if i
use the same for Metric 1 and metric2 i do not get the results.

Any thoughts on this....
