Hi,
We have a merge replication system in place. Remote users synchronize their
database. Suddenly one of the user is getting the following error:

Setting up to Sync non-PWO tables from Master to Laptop.
Copying selected data from Master database to Your database using
publication: PWO
Phase: Start
Error: -2147467259 during synchronize Start phase:
# 20084 The process could not connect to Distributor 'QUO1'.
# 17 SQL Server does not exist or access denied.
ERROR -- Your database was NOT synchronized, contact system support!
He can ping the sql server from his machine. I am not sure why this error
message is coming. Any help is appreciated. Thanks

Check that the ping is based on netbios name and not ip address. If it is,
please try a simple connection under the same credentials from the same
subscriber.
