I am issuing
exec master.dbo.xp_sendmail @recipients = 'rkokoski',
@message = 'test'

I get the message back
Server: Msg 17985, Level 16, State 1, Line 0
xp_sendmail: Procedure expects parameter @user, which was
not supplied.

What is this @user parameter????? This is not in any
documentation I have. When I try and supply that
parameter I get a message back about SQL not knowing what
that parameter is. Is there a bug somewhere, in an sp
update?

Thanks!!

You may want to check that you have configured SQL Mail correctly and that
it is working:

http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/dnovba01/html/SQLServerE-mail.asp

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;263556

If you want to switch to SMTP try:
